St. Paul, originally called Saul, was a well-educated Jew and famous persecutor of the early church. Paul was also knows as the Apostle to the Gentiles for his tireless work taking the Gospel message to the Gentile nations. Paul went on three missionary journeys that took him to Cyprus, Asia Minor, Greece, Macedonia and Achaea. Paul is symbolized by three fountains of water, as it is said that St. Paul severed head bounced three times, causing three fountains of water to spring forth.
